Nick has this thing about new sneakers. When he gets a new pair that he really likes (which is whenever he gets a new pair) he starts a crusade to keep them looking brand new for as long as possible. He attempts to achieve this by threatening to wear bags on his feet whenever he goes outdoors or is cooking. This is much like his threats to stop eating bread or quit drinking alcohol. It never lasts. Nevertheless, it is amusing to document his endeavors.
* I forgot to mention that he purchased two pairs of these Richard Petty Nascar shoes and stated that (with the the two pairs) he thinks he can wear these shoes for the rest of his life.
